The Education Tissue consists of Carver, La Puerta, Mission Waco, and Mayborn Museum.
Carver Middle School Tutoring
In this cell, we work with middle school students at Carver aiding in their after school tutoring program. We help students on a wide variety of subjects and also get to engage in various fun activities. In this cell, we get to engage with great students and build notable connections with growing minds.
**Background check and registration required by Waco ISD. If a volunteer has filled it out previously they do not need to do it again.
Volunteering times (Indian Springs/Carver Middle School):
M-F 4:15-6:30pm

La Puerta/CWJC
We will continue to volunteer weekly in-person assisting by tutoring in English and Spanish GED prep. courses and create practice worksheets/SI style worksheets for the students for service hours.

Mission Waco
Through Mission Waco, members will have the opportunity to engage in one-on-one in person tutoring with WISD students as well as play with them to ensure a fun and safe environment.
**A volunteer orientation and background check are required.
Volunteering times:
Children’s Program: Monday-Thursday from 3-5:30pm
Youth Program: Monday-Thursday from 4-6:30pm

Mayborn Museum
Volunteers will get to be in charge of activity carts throughout the museum and teach guests facts about the artifacts/displays and create a fun, interactive environment!
**Orientation for new volunteers. Returning volunteers must complete this year's Baylor Release Forms.
